To all our friends around the world who celebrate the new year today, we wish you health, happiness, and peace. As we celebrate together, please remember that it is true that the Fatherhood of God makes possible the brotherhood and sisterhood of men and women.

If you are uncertain, lonely, undecided, embarrassed, ashamed, angry, or otherwise afraid at this Christmas season, please remember our Savior. He is always here with us, inviting us gently, powerfully, lovingly to be not afraid, only believe.

I had the privilege of representing the Church at a Deepavali celebration earlier this week. I enjoyed learning more about this Hindu festival that celebrates how light overcomes darkness.

I was grateful for the chance to speak today at . Recently I have felt the strong impression that God, our Heavenly Father, loves us more and knows us better than we love or know ourselves.

In the faces and daily lives of good people in every nation, kindred, and tongue, I see a mosaic of God’s love.

At a time when the world is in commotion with natural disasters and human injustice, our Lord Jesus Christ invites each person in every nation, kindred, and tongue to come to Him and partake of the fruits of His restored gospel.

It is my prayer that we—along with people of faith across the globe—can achieve our goals of creating hopeful pathways forward as we together offer and seek peace, people, and planet through faith, hope, and goodwill.

Susan and I express our love and gratitude to President , who invited us to join him on his ministry trip to the Pacific. The ways in which he brought to the people the Lord’s love, the Lord’s doctrine, and the Lord’s commandments will bless their lives forever.

It is a blessing to witness the Lord’s prophet minister to people around the globe. He wants all to know that the heavens are open, that the Lord loves them, and that while we are living in a time of great challenge, it is also a time of great blessings.

Our Savior assures us, whatever our circumstances, whomever we are, in the words of Isaiah: “He shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.”

Our being together in an international setting is a reminder that our Lord Jesus Christ is indeed King of kings and Lord of lords, Savior and Redeemer of all mankind. Our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, personally came to restore the gospel and Church.

I experienced true “southern hospitality” recently as I visited Kentucky and Tennessee and met so many kind and gracious people. I was reminded that our Savior Jesus Christ loves each of us one by one.

May we each follow the Savior’s example this Christmas season in loving and caring for one another in meaningful and everlasting ways. Merry Christmas.

At the center of all that matters is the reality that God is our Eternal Father, Jesus is the Christ, whose Atonement blesses us in time and eternity.

Our Savior’s Atonement is infinite and eternal. Each of us strays and falls short. We may, for a time, lose our way while keeping our faith. God lovingly assures us, no matter where we are or what we have done, there is no point of no return. He waits ready to embrace us.

Since General Conference, many have asked to see the campfire Elder Scott helped me paint. I share it not for its artistic merit, but as an encouragement to us all to try wholesome new things, and to continue to warm our hearts, hopes, and commitment at our campfire of faith.

In various times and ways, we all feel inadequate, uncertain, perhaps unworthy. Yet, in our faithful efforts to love God and to minister to our neighbor, we may feel God’s love and needed inspiration for their and our lives in new and holier ways.

Ask yourself, “Are there things in my life I should start, stop, or continue doing?” Seemingly small actions or attitudes carried on over time can set important long-term trajectories. “Out of small things proceedeth that which is great” (D&C 64:33).

Count your many blessings. Look for ways to add “thank you,” “I love you,” “please forgive me,” and “I forgive you” to your daily life.
