    Updated: Deadliest day of anti-military rule protests with 14 people killed so far. "We haven't ever had violence in Bahri like today's, even under the old regime," one person told me.

    's coup leaders have blocked telecommunications, but reports on the violence against protesters by security forces is still getting out, and the news is grim: over a dozen killed & many more injured today, security forces trying to storm hospitals & block 1st responders.

    This is a key point for the US and others. Increased violence markedly decreases the feasibility of pushing for a pacted transition for Sudan.

    Report from Saturday‘s mass protests in . Security forces apparently tried to disperse them right at the start, but still large numbers showed up.

    Es kommt immer auf die genaue Fragestellung an. Auffällig, dass Ausbildungseinsätze der Bundeswehr hier deutlich mehr Zustimmung bekommen als (zivile) Polizeieinsätze, beispielsweise.
