And honestly that's a great ending. The problem was largely that Dany went nuts essentially during one conversation with Jon. The inner monologue of the books will pay this out way better. (One would think...)

Where it ended up was fine; how it got there was not. You can't jam 10 episodes of content into 6 episodes of production and not leave people feeling like you skipped a few relevant or important bits.

It really has nothing to do with episode length or time and I want to destroy this kind of assumption. It just has to do with putting the important bits in the actual writing and making them motivated, whether it's six hours or ten.

I've seen interviews from him where he talks about the audience guessing plot points early and that you can't rewrite your entire story just because someone on the internet figured it out.
