2. Goo deep before you go broad: focus on your team first. Roll up your sleeves and ship something impactful to production. Understand the tools, the code, go oncall. I suggest staff/principal engineers as well.

3. Take initiative - after you’ve onboarded. It takes time to understand how things work. Once you’ve done so, be a problem fixer, not just someone who complains about things being broken. It could be the build, frameworks, tools, processes etc you make better.

4. Find a mentor outside your team, inside the company. An engineer who is at a similar or higher level, and you can ideally meet in-person once every few weeks. Come prepared, describe yourself challenges & successes and ask for feedback.
