Personally I am not convinced that climate change is a huge threat to many species. Plus it is hard to know what local groups can do about it. βConservation documents for half of all critically endangered species donβt mention climate changeβ

In my view the biggest threat to Australian species at present is still land degradation and invasives (like myrtle rust). For many species climate change is not the greatest threat. I have >100 papers on how to help species adapt to the threat of climate change.

You did not tweet "greatest threat"... you tweeted "huge threat."
IMHO, it is a huge threat:
- ipcc.ch/sr15/
- climate.nasa.gov/effects/
- climate.nasa.gov/ask-nasa-clima
- nca2018.globalchange.gov
So, myrtle rust is a greater threat than this: nature.com/articles/d4158?

The article is about what should go in recovery plans. I donβt think every recovery plan should list climate change and I am happy if we agree to disagree. Myrtle rust is a much bigger threat than climate change for the >20 species it severely affects.

I must say that I am astounded by your comments... I am referring to the entire biosphere and you talk of a few dozen species. And yet you said "I am not convinced that climate change is a huge threat to many species"...

This is a line of tweets about what should go in recovery plans. Myrtle rust is certainly the greatest threat to at least the >20 endemic tree species it severely affects. Land clearing and climate change are not helpful. martinemaron.files.wordpress.com/2016/05/2003-b
