  1. New: ⁦⁩ to ask the public in Budget which EU rules they’d like to scrap. Ministers have been strangely reticent when asked to give specific examples, so this might help. BEIS fears it will have to do a lot of wading through the responses

  3. Funny how one of the supposed reasons for Brexit was for us to be able to strike trade deals with the US, Australia etc, but now we aren't bothered about whether we have a trade deal with the EU. Reminder: 45% of UK exports went to the EU in 2018. 1.7% to Australia.

  9. Love the No 10 rebranding of a “no trade deal” Brexit - ie WTO with tariffs, serious friction and a bit of mitigation - as an “Australia-style” deal. Just a reminder: Australia has no FTA with the EU and is 9,000 miles away, not 30

  16. What else can you do on a night like tonight but go to a “dress as your favourite EU country” party? Choice a bit limited at local party shop. Good to see we’ve learned so much in 47 years. Love to all our friends in the EU - maybe not perfect but better than the alternatives❤️
