I'm from Nashville. I'm not a Rhodes scholar or a Vanderbilt Law grad, but I'll run against Jim Cooper my own damn self if he doesn't back away from this ridiculousness. Don't let me down,
@repjimcooper . -
I would gladly support you if you primary him

As would I.

Y'all made me smile. Thank you.

Then one of my goals for the day has been completed. :)

Nancy Pelosi's record is horrible, shes corrupt and takes insane amount of legalized bribes from PAC's. She gives into the Republicans and fights our own party! Right now she is trying to cut a deal with R's to make medicare for all impossible and stab Democrats in the back!
-
Pelosi's record is likely the most progressive in Congressional history. You might want to learn how to research instead of following popular talking points. She LED PACs that supported the Democratic campaigns. Get it right or GTFO.
-
The most progressive in congressional history? Look, I’m all for supporting Pelosi in her current position (for now), but let’s not act like she’s been leading the charge on actual left/progressive policy. She doesn’t even support Medicare for all.
-
First of all, that specific naming came from Senator Sanders. I'll give that I absolutely spoke of the House, but that particular point is irrelevant. Medicare itself needs to be overhauled. It isn't good enough for those depending on it now.
-
Progressive policy is not suddenly defined by cliche catch phrases, which Medicare For All really is. Whether the future of healthcare in the US is single payer, or any other form of Universal coverage is not clear. Don't pretend that a cliche by itself means a damn thing.
-
Nobody pretended that the ACA was the end all or close to it for providing coverage. It was the first major step that had to be taken - availability. I personally believe single payer should be the goal. I know better than to believe that will happen soon.
-
The only reason it won’t happen sooner is because of those promoting a philosophy of incremental change only. Progressive policies address the need for immediate change, and the ACA doesn’t go far enough. It didn’t when we had the opportunity to pass Medicare for all.
-
You never had the opportunity to pass Medicare for all. You are kidding yourself if you believe there was sufficient support for any such agenda in 2010.

This is why the republicans are stronger then dems. This infighting. Can the dems even manage to take advantage of this new majority? Early returns say no.....
-
They might only have 30% of the country but that 30% knows what they want.
-
We need to get on the same page, or they will find a way sneak in 4 more years of Trump, and that would be a disaster.
-
No. Politics isn't about parties. Thats an oligarch, not a democracy. These people are supposed to represent their constiuents. And if they don't want Pelosi, they shouldn't vote for Pelosi. Come on, we have to be better than the party of Trump, forcing people in line.
-
It has to be. U do realize these people pushing her out are centrists being backed by a dark money fund called No Labels? They would love your take but say goodbye to any progress.
-
What is so wrong with that? Democrats and Republicans are both backed by groups financially. It cannot inconvenience you when the centrists follow their group, but then turn your eyes when the further left candidate follows their group. It can't be both ways.
-
Did I say I was calling for both ways? U are not looking at the danger this group poses. They are behaving like the Tea Party, making demands before they have even begun to do any work. 1
-
They are a minority demanding Pelosi end the gridlock or they won't support her as speaker, a subject they were all silent on when GOP had majority. NOW they demand a comprimise 2
