What a shame, an excellent tweet and Assange needs all the support he can get. What happened @GeorgeMonbiot?https://twitter.com/jaraparilla/status/1172055786865881088 …

Thanks, look forward to that. Strongly recommend you contact @NilsMelzer who has done a brilliant job of exposing 'mainstream' propaganda on Assangehttp://www.medialens.org/index.php/alerts/alert-archive/2019/906-mirthless-laugh-the-persecution-and-torture-of-julian-assange.html …
Thank you. Has he written a paper on the subject? I find it much easier to absorb information in writing.
At the moment my position is: support him strongly against the US request, but not against the Swedish one. What about you?
I'd be guided by Nils Melzer's report.
Given the seriousness of the issue and the hugely negative precedent it will set for journalists, I would've thought you had followed it closely from the beginning. But then your paper has put the boot in to Assange ever since the Leigh saga and Viner, so we don't expect much.
Hi George. Have you been able to follow this up at all? An injustice surrounded by silence. Here's another helpful read:https://newmatilda.com/2019/09/23/weaponising-rape-myths-and-consent-in-the-hunt-for-julian-assange/ …
@GeorgeMonbiot I know you've been busy with XR, but have you looked into this yet? Journalist held in UK prison in solitary confinement in disregard of UN demands is surely worth speaking up about.
If you care about justice & protecting press freedom then you really SHOULD get fully across the Assange case. Assange is a political prisoner held in the UK, there is ample evidence of multiple state interference in his case. Follow @AssangeMrs and @DefendAssange @suigenerisjen
@NilsMelzer is the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nils_Melzer … is you have to read up on that too and he has written about the UK and Swedenpic.twitter.com/1gjfnuyUVm
