George I'm curious who came up with the "betrayal" headline? It seems to be the focus of much of the objection in the Guardian comments, but presumably that wasn't even your doing?

Let’s put it like this. If Attenborough had not done what he’s done (and continues to do), we would be way, way worse off. The shows he presents have motivated the ‘everyman’ to get onboard and act. Without him, so many of the population wouldn’t take any notice at all.

George, you call for the BBC/Attenborough to hit us with "raw truth" rather than a more delicate message, tacked on to "escapist" docs. Let's think politically for a moment. You/environmentalists have been hitting us with "raw truth" for decades. How's that working out?

For someone who rights well about human nature here and building a political movement for action that taps into it elsewhere, you seem to show a pretty rudimentary grasp of it here. Shock and awe doesn't work. It turns people off. Which allows systems/politicians to turn off.

All wildlife programmes should be framed within the context of how climate change is affecting animal life. To produce anything today that doesn't is disingenuous.

Blue Planet II did exactly this. Which Monbiot even grudgingly acknowledges in his article.
