I’m glad someone said it. Attenborough has offered us nature as spectacle, entertainment and of course learning. But he has failed to teach us to transform our love of watching nature into protecting nature. He had failed to speak the truth about causes of environmental damage.

That's a wee bit unfair. He has raised the issue of plastic pollution of the oceans to public notice.

Please give me some credit. I started work in the BBC Natural History Unit and made some highly successful programmes, until investigative work was shut down by orders from on high.
