Ok, this is clever. I've always wondered how my rice cooker supposedly would "know" when done. I thought perhaps it was load-cell based over time. No, much more simple and creative...

Seems like a nice small board with plenty of options and at a great price.

Hmm, what to do when you designed in 2x15 and 2x10 1.27mm pitch female headers but those lengths were out of stock? Abra, cadbra, presto, changeo, what was once 2x50 is now some 2x15's and 2x10s thanks to the Epilog Laser...

Finally carved out some time to assemble 3 boards. We decided to roll the dice and just paste and reflow and the results are actually pretty good. 1 or 2 questionable pads but it looks like it'll be OK. You can see the solder going down a few of the 0.2mm vias. Poor Man's ViP !!!

PCB Cart's price is ~$183 for 5pcs w/ a 12-day turn and $243 when I click on "Via in pad" option. PCBway is $145 for 4 day turn but when you choose VIP the cost goes to $393 JLCPCB was $39.50 for 10 boards, 4 day build, $17 DHL shipping

My photography skills can't hold a candle to but I thought I'd still risk embarrassing myself and sharing some pictures of the low cost USB Analyzer. registration isn't perfect but that's 0.2mm holes in 0.45mm pads. Soldermask is a little off too.

Everything has been ordered so I should have the 1st boards built next week. Must be time to start thinking of what to do next!

Well I missed my target to release the board last week but I did add boot up jumpers on the bottom and did some additional tweaking. Looks like everything is done so I can release the board tonight or tomorrow

Well nothing like adding onto a design that was almost done! I just need to do a final design review and decide on the silk screen but I should be ordering boards this week. The design is also on my GitHub but still in Altium, ATM

The problem with walking away and coming back to the layout is I keep changing things, hopefully for the better! Everything is connected now but still needs some TLC and sprinkle in some extras. Then cleanup & decide on what to put on silk screen

I've got 139 signals routed out to the board edges now, I think that's all of them. I've placed 2 Hirose 80-pin DF40, 0.4mm pitch connectors on the bottom. Right side is tight, maybe I'll switch to 4 40-pin? I moved the LPC xtal to L4, way from D+/D-

Slowly finding the time to make additional progress on this low cost USB analyzer board. Should be less than 50mm^2. Still needs some TLC but it's looking like I can get all of the LPC4357 signals broken out on a 4 layer PCB. LPC4357, 256Mb SDRAM, USB3343

Blue connections are SDRAM Address signals. What was NXP thinking when they chose what pins on the LPC4357 would be the memory interface pins? All the address are on the "top" while A5-A7 are on the "lower right" (in this view)
