I differ from my parents in a number of key ways, but they are definitely the foundation of my ethical framework and the way I treat others, and I have inherited the best of both of them in this regard. Thanks mum and dad.

My moral/ethical framework is from my paternal grandmother. My parents definitely came a long way from theirs and did a lot of innerwork - but I wish they hadn't stopped. It's like they made it halfway to "decent person" from "actively on fire" and decided that was good enough.

I inherited a lot of great traits like intelligence and intuition that I’m very thankful for - but it’s been hard realizing that there hasn’t been good modeling for how to *truly* care for people. Lots of ways to *seem* like you care, but few for actually following through.
