Man, my family are really great, and it's often really notable how many of my best traits come directly from my parents.

For me this is true and also my worst habits lack of self discipline and latent narcissism. Some of us are formed in imitation rather than opposition.
Interestingly all of my worst habits are I think entirely independent of my parents' worst habits (I maybe got the avoidance from my mother, but she handles it better than I do). My parents are both a bit too driven and I looked at that as a kid and went "lolnope".
