I am aware this is not a common opinion in this corner of Twitter. If you cannot say the same, I'm very sorry and you deserved a better family than you got.

Man, my family are really great, and it's often really notable how many of my best traits come directly from my parents.

I differ from my parents in a number of key ways, but they are definitely the foundation of my ethical framework and the way I treat others, and I have inherited the best of both of them in this regard. Thanks mum and dad.

same! I consider myself a hyper-successful hybrid, and I especially like to defend this statement because people mostly see my dad in me, partially because he's more recognizably unique and partially because we happen to be the same gender.

It's my mom's bday today, and while my relationship with her is complex, there's no doubt in my mind that she's a amazing person. HOnestly I could've stood to inherit more of her traits. She's extremely driven, i'm extremely laidback.

I think the same is true for me. The only problem is stubbornness/other good-only-in-pinches traits run deep on both sides, so sometimes I’m the overpowered, worst version of both of them
