I'm happy for you that you're in a context where this feels viable (if not safe?) for you to do! How did you guys make progress towards getting you to this point?
Took me two relationships before I was finally able to *kind of* do this in my third, and I still have a ways to go
Have recently been in a safe environment for expressing them to people tho, and that's been helping me feel more confident in them surprisingly quickly!Mostly just lots of incremental progress in this direction over a long period of time, enabled by being really good at relationship communication, them spending a lot of time helping me feel safe, and me working on dealing with a whole pile of my emotional baggage.
