People who cannot and indeed make no attempt to adequately explain their subject matter to a general audience are shocked, SHOCKED I say, when said audience wilfully misunderstands their subject in ways that any first year class would have belittled them for not understanding.
The fun thing about this tweet is that there's no way you can tell which academic or indeed what academic field I'm subtweeting, because it's literally all of them.
i thought it could've been the sjw-types who refuse to explain why they think the things they say are bad are bad, claiming that explaining things is emotional labour which is somehow very important that you know and at the same time not worth doing for its own sake.
