You know the phenomenon of male characters who you absolutely should not identify because they're awful people who nevertheless a lot of men identify with? e.g. James Bond, Rick (of Rick and Morty), Rorschach.

But like "No I actually am just that good" aspect is totally a thing you can do in real life, because it's situational and relative to those around you.

Yeah, but they are only tolerable because they are able to navigate these situations. Take that away and they are insufferable.

I think all that's required about the situations is that they are hard for the other people around them, not that they are impossibly difficult.
