Finding myself vaguely disappointed in the replies to "What do you like about being a man?" thread and I'm not quite clear on why.

the thing is men could behave differently from women but they could feel mostly neutral about it

The answers that blow my mind are like "women are luckier because they can sleep with men anytime, because women are choosier than men" I'm always thinking "do you wish you... were choosier?... or that women were less choosy than men...??"

I think there's a real thing being pointed at there which is that the default heterosexual norms of men approaching women do (especially but not exclusively in male dominated spaces) end up giving women a lot more freedom of choice than men feel like they have.

This is definitely not true. The younger generations of women in western postindustrial countries do in fact have this freedom, and we can see what they want to do with it. In fact, behaving like a man is painful and builds resentment over time.
