I wonder how much the best recipes are off of perfect portion proportions simply because of quantization noise in our cooking units?

I was debating getting one of those for awhile but I just stick a thermometer in my kettle and heat it on the stove if I need the control.
I mostly use it set permanently at 80 for making coffee so it's worth having the ease of control.

Yeah it's definitely a lot more convenient if you can afford to buy it. Although if I were to allocate money to coffee-making implements the temp-control kettle would be much lower down the list than a good grinder. (Also depending on the beans 80 might not be the optimal temp)
