I think it could possibly be a net positive if more online dating sites stop trying to copy the tinder model and design them to suit more people
I think this is in principle possibly true but that some combination of network effects, incentives, and prior expectations make this sort of replacement very hard to pull off.

hot dog stands on the beach situation maybe....better for customers if they're far ish apart better for them to be similar as possible

FWIW it's not social imitation that makes all sites converge on the same garbage format, but 95% of all online dating platforms being owned by 1 company (Match Group)
