In the context I saw this, it was being painted as a gendered difference. I think it is, but not for the reasons people are treating it as. The actual reason is that we've put the boundaries of "thinking" in the wrong place.

BTW to tie this back into the original discussion: School is *terrible* at teaching collaborative thinking. I think there are a variety of reasons for this, but the most prominent one is that it's much harder to grade.

Yes, thinkers like you can always find that categorization sucks but the purpose of categorization is to have a mutual understanding in communication too.

It's true that conversation and thinking have some similarities, but telling that they're the same is equal to inner space vs outer space problem, or 2 + 2 = ?.
