Yup, I started with the Moloch one and that was my impression. Didn't agree with his final conclusions and his confidence in them made me kinda wary, but the ride to get there was fascinating. Got a big ol grain of salt ready for the rest of his stuff.

it's hard to generalize because the corpus is so vast. the fiction (obviously) is mostly not controversial and fun. medical stuff is very earnest and informed. book reviews are thorough. culture war stuff, ymmv. regardless, he is a gifted, entertaining, and cogent writer.

He's very confident of his position and he's very big on "principle of charity" as a talking point but he's not actually very good at being charitable to competing worldviews. Most blatant example is that basically every time feminism comes up you need to salt the post liberally.
