an idea doesn't stop being useful just because its proponents are annoying unfortunately
I mostly also didn't find Deutsch to have useful ideas when I read him TBH. There was some interesting stuff there, but I mostly failed to get along with it.

depends i guess on the resonance between the author's mind and the reader's mind at the moment of reading i felt the same about eg. meaningness

Kindof but Deutsch also had the problem that the more I knew what he was talking about the more I could spot flaws in what he was saying. Less lack of resonance and more actual disagreement.
