OK, well my answer is basically that question: The reason why not to use a "better" word is that nobody has actually convincingly suggested one. Also "Normie" has a lot of useful functions and the euphemism treadmill just dooms any word we try to replace it with.

1/2 Instead of "norm" I personally would use "mainstream". Suppose, it's too long to type and I have no viral power to influence replacing the word "normie" with it. But I can be the change I want to see in the world and use the word "mainstream" vs "normie"
