I'm not the only one who felt the "look down" part I see. I didn't find the explanations sufficent. What makes it useful for *you*? Why not use a word that is similar but doesn't have a "look down" feel?

OK, well my answer is basically that question: The reason why not to use a "better" word is that nobody has actually convincingly suggested one. Also "Normie" has a lot of useful functions and the euphemism treadmill just dooms any word we try to replace it with.
