It's especially bad in a trans context. I wasn't "born this way", that's literally the issue here!
Yeah. I think there's a lot of how trans stuff gets talked about that wants to legitimise it by painting it as intrinsic and biological, but I think "Sometimes transition is going to be a good choice for people and I don't really care why they want to do it?" is the best stance.
(I'm cis, but I had to check pretty carefully before I decided that was the right choice, and it's easy for me to imagine alternate histories where I transitioned instead and that was the right choice too. I'm entirely comfortable with this, but I think many aren't)
