Not logically endorsed but intuitively felt data point you might be interested in, which is that there are roughly the following big jumps: 1) Me 2) Everyone I care about 3) Enough people that civilisation collapses 4) Full extinction Maybe 10x each with roughly flat in between

Apparently I'm pretty scope insensitive between the few thousand and few billion marks. Doubt I'd feel that way if it actually happened, but that's how it feels right now.
