I find that interesting, because I think for me it definitely would? Hard to talk about hypotheticals here so I'm having to extrapolate along the Kinsey scale a bit. I definitely think I'd be much better at making myself more attractive if I noticed attractive things in other men
Ah, well, *making* myself more attractive is a different question. I know how to make myself reasonably attractive, it's just a bit abstract and doesn't really cause me to experience myself as attractive.

Not really, because you can define intermediate goals that are more accessible. e.g. comfort in my own body will make me more attractive. Dressing well (in particular ways) will make me more attractive. Figuring out what to do with my hair will make me more attractive.
