This a) Is full of sugar which I think is part of the problem and b) Causes me to eat a lot more.

OK I think I figured out the food anxiety trigger). I switched chocolate brands. Normally I eat Lindt 90% which is great and comparatively low sugar. Was trying Tony's Chocolonely which is allegedly more ethical. It also has about 50kg of sugar per 100g in it.

Not saying the carbs aren't also a trigger, not sure, but based on current performance this definitely is.

How ethical is Alid's Moser Roth? It's both nicer and cheaper than Lindt.

No idea! I don't have easy access to an Aldi though. To be clear I'm not aware of anything specifically unethical about Lindt, there's just a big ethics problem in chocolate in general and Tony's Chocolonely is supposedly created in opposition to that.
