True but also I can think of many failed startups where you could too, so I'm not sure this is predictive. Certainly I think repeatedly showing people how to improve their lives with existing tools has much higher EV than creating a startup.

Sure. > higher EV Agree, in part because many of the startups I’m thinking of, which took an already doable thing and made it easier than breathing (inside their walled garden), seem to me to be net negative in value (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest).

I used to share an office with a company whose product was basically `wget -m [hostname] && aws s3 upload` - they took your existing static site and hosted it on The Cloud. They charged handsomely for this service. It took me a while to realise that this was, in fact, brilliant.
