"Why don't you just delete the (social media app) from your phone" is like asking "why don't you just skip your ingroup's invite-only party." It's a thing you could do, it's just not very smart.

Yeah. And also when I could maintain better focus. My reading has dropped through the floor in the last ~3 months and it's resulted in more time on social media. I'd like to spend less time on here, but it's more that I'd like to be able to spend more time doing other things.

I think this particular corner of social media is quite different from what people experience as social media (doomscrolling, effort posting, fighting) but it's *still* the place where people's friends hang out!

Yes, agreed. This is a particularly (oddly?) healthy corner of the Twittersphere. People occasionally comment on how chill the experience of following me on main is in comparison to similar accounts and I think that's partly because I'm exporting norms from here.
