Exactly. That's why I regularly cook good cuts of steak but ask for tofu as the protein in cheap Asian restaurants. My enjoyment has to outweigh the animal's suffering.

I feel *much* more guilty wasting meat than plants. Even if I’m full, I’ll keep eating until the meat is finished if it would otherwise go to waste. Plant sentience is real but of a significantly lower moral intensity

I feel similarly about terrible desserts, or otherwise disappointing but caloric things. Be worth it! I know there's a stick of butter in there, why is this so dry??
