sorry if this is dickish - but nearly every midlife person seems very lame and the worst of them all are the ones who dont accept this. im not depressed just what exactly is the point

But also I think my life is going to be amazing for most of the 40-60 range so it's not like it wouldn't have been a funny take without that.

I am too aspie for this I would 100 % agree that a lot of people get shit figured out after 30 and do a lot of interesting things, but I would also call that period midlife, just because… "mid"… again, I'm too aspie for this
-
I think of it more about division into eras of meaningfully different life stages than necessarily mid by year. But like I say, I don't care that much - perfectly happy to label midlife as 30-50 if that's useful in context.

it seems common enough that people feel 'more boring' as they get older, right? not to mention biological decline possibly if one is very career/ambition inclined, or had signif psychological problems, 30+ can seem more interesting, but that isn't vast maj of people!

I think most people's 30s are pretty good and almost everyone I know had/is having a more interesting time in their 30s than their 20s. Most people's 20s are the period where everything is a bit shit because they're in the real world but can't deal with it.
