Yes actually, I think that gets me halfway there but then I also wish to know what Less Wrong is (and why) without reading it or talking to any of its people
Less Wrong is a community site which is centered around a particular vision of rationality. They've got a sort of core theme of "Utilitarianism is the right ethical system, reasoning is best modeled as Bayesian probability theory, and we're really worried about AI safety"

But it's hard to really describe a single coherent set of Less Wrong philosophical principles - they're just a group of people who believe a bunch of loosely connected things.
