Ooh, yeah, that sounds like it sucks. Glad it's nothing dangerous though.
I had costochondritis a few years ago and sounds like they have the "I'm preeeetty sure that I'm not having a heart attack but not quite as sure as I'd like to be" in common, which isn't a fun place to be. Sympathies.

Yeah. Similarly with the costochondritis it was a bit too central and not quite sharp enough, so the internal conversation was more like "Hmm I seem to be having chest pains. That's probably bad, but it definitely isn't a heart attack. ... Isn't it though?"
