I keep trying to write a follow up tweet explaining why and I'm not sure I can. There are some pretty useful specific take homes but it feels like they don't really capture it.

I think it's partly that the benefits I got out of it aren't strictly things that were in the book, the book just provided certain basic tools that I could combine with others and use to very good effect in my life.

Same. I feel especially queasy around his advice about angering. I think he advises something akin to getting angry at certain parts of yourself that simulate people who hurt you ... which is a potentially harmful confusion.
