Gosh, I don't know. I probably wouldn't try directly - I'd see if there was something more specific they wanted to do that it would be useful for (it's useful for a lot of things) and try to signpost how to get better at it in that context?

I mean if I wanted a pure motivation that would get the most people motivated to learn this skill it's this: Being able to ask good questions makes you smarter, and it makes you *seem* even smarter than that.
