Not that my life hadn't started prior to my first kiss, but I was totally dysfunctional prior to about 18 and gradually became more of a functioning human being over the next decade until I could mostly fake it pretty well by my late 20s.

PS. They were a really bad choice of person to have a first kiss with, mostly because they were a really bad choice of person to have a relationship with, and I've spent a significant chunk of this week unpicking leftover emotional damage from that relationship.
