Someone made a basically infohazardous list of dark-side 36 questions to fall in love that have this vibe, though yours is more earnest and seems more valuable to actually think about.

That said, there's some vibe here where the questions feel phrased to sound darker and more terrifying than they are, and there's a nearby phrasing that is sympathetic to the pain and negative feelings that undergird the parts of people these are trying to reach.

I think this is actually a feature. Triggering the relevant negative emotion is often usefully revealing for this sort of work.

I think it's mixed - both forms are useful, and they're useful in different ways and for different people.
