is it ok to DM somebody you don’t know on Twitter just to tell them you think they’re pretty and maybe add that you hope they have a good day or is that weird stalkerish oh my god please don’t do it behavior
I feel like it treads the line and is the sort of thing where competent performance is pleasing and incompetent performance is creepy, but it's hard to learn competent performance without trying. Maybe adding "There's no need to reply to this, I just wanted you to know!" helps?

I think I mostly agree with this, and definitely agree with giving an explicit out to further conversation, which also helps as a framing device. I volunteer to read the message in advance and give my take! But no promises I'm a good stand-in, and no pressure to go that route.

Yeah, a lot of guys stay stuck never getting competent out of fear of upsetting someone in the process. I wouldn't advise 'move fast break shit' levels of mistake making. But you have to be willing to potentially make *some*. That's just non negotiable, women just have to deal.
