anonymity wears at me because I can't say "that group of people you're bashing, I belong to it" jumping in with "not all..." sucks. otoh, it's immensely wearying to witness people harping on about things you don't do thinking of quitting this bubble

I tend to filter these out by unfollowing, muting, or blocking, anyone who tends to piss me off in this way. Although I think we experience this problem slightly differently - I tend to get more people with traits I share making universalist claims that do not apply to me.

yeah but now everything you post is followed by "...said a man", which means people will include you in some discussions, but exclude from others, and generally adjust their posture based on a stereotype which you don't fit

Yeah. It's a trade off. I'm glad I was ungendered when I set the vibe for this account, but I thought the usefulness had passed. If it hasn't, well, we have to alt deeper!
