      I think it's actually the eggs in liquid people are being viscerally horrified by but this is also incorrect. If you're going to sell peeled eggs they *should* be in liquid.

      You could always buy them wet in bags to be safe - there's no risk of this happening once they've been cooked and peeled.

          Apparently the answer to why they are doing this BTW is that it's actually an entirely normal way to ship boiled eggs for a salad bar, but sometimes they have too many and rather than waste them they sell them on to customers.
