The extreme version of the idea, which is certainly too reductionist as is but can be very useful as basis of meditation practices, is that emotions are just particular (and partly mutable) combinations of specific physical sensations linked with certain thought patterns.

Anxious days suck, but you should look at this the other way. You can program yourself with certain behaviors for positive outcomes.
