This is doubtless beside the point but now I'm wondering about logistics and how hard it would be to arrange an animal sacrifice. I'm sure I can just buy a lamb somewhere. Do I need a license to sacrifice? What's the going rate on altar rental?

I hear they plunge lobsters into boiling water so if you're ok with an animal that isn't fluffy you may be able to get away with a lot. [Please don't get away with anything non humane though :)] After all if it's legal for non religious reasons it must be legal for religion (??)
I don't think I know any gods that accept lobsters as objects of ritual sacrifice. I promise if I murder anything fluffy I will do so as humanely as possible though.

I think I'm worried about the specificity of BOTH those sentences :) I'm no expert but Caribbean-y religions for seafood sacrifices maybe? Wikipedia gives an example of an Afro-Cuban church which has to fight in Florida for first amendment rights to sacrifice (eg chickens)
