what is your most ~progressive~ opinion?

(I don't necessarily hold this opinion as strongly as I hold other progressive opinions I hold, but it's probably my opinion that is most likely to be controversial in that space so that feels like a good metric)

I guess my most economically progressive opinion is: tax or raise taxes on a whole buttload of things (land, carbon, flights, car ownership, maaaybe salt and sweeteners) and immediately redistribute the proceeds as UBI (which doesn't count as income for tax or benefits purposes).

Yes! I still think it's crazy that you have to agree to near-total fiscal union just to be recognized as someone's "next-of-kin" for medical reasons or similar.

Abolish government institution, replace it with freedom of association I know it’s culturally progressive but

I mean honestly I'd basically be OK with replacing marriages with pure contract law, as long as the mechanisms required to replicate current marriages and various more flexible forms were all put in place and a bunch of well designed standard contracts were made available.

I'd call that a hardcore conservative position and base it on the mistake of basing marriage off religious practices instead of secular contract law and a violation of the establishment of a state religion.

Sure whatever. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
