I feel that way towards my parents. The impression I have on them seems to have frozen in time. From far, there were signs of our weak familial bonds - yet I'm surprised my mum didn't see it coming... Makes me wonder if we have been living under the same roof all along

Lots of bullying mostly. Having to go to school where I was surrounded by lots of tiny psychopaths who delighted in tormenting me until I couldn't keep control any further and school staff who would then tell me that it was my fault for not ignoring them wasn't a recipe for calm.
Family were then not very good at understanding the distinction between good natured teasing (which is fine) and doing things that reminded me of said bullies, which would of course reliably get me to fly into a rage, and I wasn't sufficiently emotionally articulate to explain.
