here's a thing that's been bothering me re: intersectionality (which i have complex feels about) when people* talk about it, it's pretty much always race / gender and sure those are important but what about, say if someone is neurotypical? *americans 1/x

FWIW though I typically see sexuality, disability, and (sometimes) age and class included in intersectionality considerations by default too.

And anyway if you spot something underresearched you can do a PhD in it.

One issue is that the boundaries for neurotypicality are fuzzier than mostly obvious physical properties like skin colour or sex. Many people are not tested/diagnosed and may not want to be, or are good enough at fitting in that people may not believe their internal struggles.

It's a lot easier to demonstrate and quantify sexual discrimination that the penalties society imposes on non NT people.

Oh! Yeah, as you say that I see how that inevitably happened. Tho ironically intersectionality is exactly the concept to comprehend why people who are neurodiverse AND one of those other categories get forgotten about by both groups and have problems neither considered :(
