When I say family therapy here, I mean it more broadly than “therapy for families”—family therapy is a philosophy, a paradigm for therapy that views not the individual as solely creating and capable of solving problems, but as enmeshed in a social behaviour-network.

on whether therapy helps at the individual level at all - I think it's much more useful to have a whole bunch of therapy skills in the water in a community than therapy is for individuals themselves.
