I think about this a lot, really. that's pretty great! i've developed some therapy skills over the years (~7 years of therapy does that to you) and they do come useful.

Me too but I mostly skipped the 7 years of therapy and just read a bunch of books and talked to a lot of people. (I've done some therapy but my conclusion was that the therapist was not a great match for me and that I was better equipped to solve my problems than she was)

on whether therapy helps at the individual level at all - I think it's much more useful to have a whole bunch of therapy skills in the water in a community than therapy is for individuals themselves.
