i've always had a strong aversion from group therapy but mostly because that's with strangers. with friends, that's different, though again in that case i prefer the informal approach.

I have a bunch of semi-formal group therapy like arrangements with friends and it works pretty well, but therapy skills are prevalent in my friend group so that helps.

on whether therapy helps at the individual level at all - I think it's much more useful to have a whole bunch of therapy skills in the water in a community than therapy is for individuals themselves.
